Café on St. Armands has been reimagined for 2025, blending bold Mediterranean flavors with the rich history of its iconic location. Originally known as Café L’Europe, this Sarasota landmark restaurant takes a step into the future while its restaurant legacy of hospitality and culinary excellence.
Originally built in 1926 as John Ringling’s real estate office, our charming building has been a part of St. Armands Circle for nearly a century. Before becoming Café L’Europe in 1973, the space housed the Cocoanut Palms restaurant in the 1950s, and later, Colombi’s Italian Restaurant.
Todays, Café on St. Armands offers a sophisticated, yet approachable, experience serving small plates and shareable dishes full of flavor inspired by Southern Europe and the Middle East. Café Soleil, a walk-up coffee bar, starts the day with gourmet coffee and house-made pastries beginning at 8 AM, while The Wet Bar brings craft cocktails and a lively atmosphere.
After the challenges of 2024’s back-to-back hurricanes, Café on St. Armands enters a new era—reimagined with modern hospitality while embracing its storied past.
