A Morning Toast to Longevity and 29 Years of Five Star Fun
Our annual Longevity Day celebration began at 9 AM in the parking lot of the Bradenton Area Convention Center. Team members (21+) were greeted with a cheerful Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar, along with plenty of water and Gatorade for those who wanted to stay hydrated. The gathering set the tone for a day dedicated to recognizing our hardworking team.
Longevity Cards and a Ride Filled with Excitement
With drinks in hand and smiles all around, the group boarded two charter buses headed for South Shore Lagoon. Along the way, each of the 105 employees who have achieved Longevity status (5+ years of service) received personalized Longevity Cards. These cards, with heartfelt messages written by John and Eleni, honored an average tenure of 11.77 years—with a combined total of 1,200 years of service!
Just as our team has demonstrated long-term commitment to creating Five Star Fun experiences, we are equally grateful for the continued loyalty of our guests. That’s why we’re thrilled for Rollback Day, where we’ll rollback prices to those from our early days, celebrating both our dedicated team and the loyal customers who have been with us along the way.
Fun in the Sun at South Shore Lagoon
Arriving at South Shore Lagoon, we spread out across the water, with some diving straight into the pool, others relaxing on loungers, and some heading to the bar. The obstacle course became an instant favorite, with participants climbing, crawling, and laughing their way through while teammates cheered them on. It was a perfect example of the fun that has defined Oysters Rock Hospitality for nearly three decades.
That same spirit of fun will be at the heart of our Rollback Day celebration on September 15th, when we’ll be offering special deals to thank our guests for 29 years of support. Whether you’re enjoying $4.99 Fish & Chips or sipping a $1.99 AMOB House Margarita, it’s sure to be a day filled with smiles, just like Longevity Day.
Paddle Board Adventures and Lunch
The fun continued with paddle board races, bringing even more laughter to the day. A standout moment came when Michelle Huffan knocked Managing Partner Tim Bingham off his paddle board. These kinds of shared experiences reflect the Five Star Fun we bring to both our team and our guests.
Weather Interruptions and a Strong Finish
Just as the afternoon seemed to be winding down, thunderclouds rolled in. With lightning spotted within seven miles, the South Shore Lagoon staff instructed us to evacuate the water. Despite the weather interruption, the team’s spirits remained high as we quickly gathered for a group photo before boarding the buses to head back to the Bradenton Area Convention Center.
A Day to Celebrate Our Incredible Team
Longevity Day was a testament to the dedication and loyalty of our employees, who have given an incredible 1,200 years of combined service to Oysters Rock Hospitality. It was a day filled with laughter, fun, and heartfelt appreciation. We can’t wait for next year’s celebration!
